Bohinj Hotel Sunrose 7 opens NEW Wellness
Sunrose 7 - Heritage Boutique Hotel - Since 1890 now offers its private and intimate wellness & SPA for pampering with the healing power of nature. The aesthetically designed Zlata vila Wellness offers seven elements of relaxation, including a carbonised Finnish sauna, a relaxing hot tub and an ice waterfall for Kneipp treatment. This latest addition to the Hotel is aimed at guests over the age of 18 and accommodates up to six people to ensure maximum privacy.
The iconic boutique hotel at the brink of the Triglav National Park and the Julian Alps, which, when it opened in 1890, already offered heated bathrooms and other features ahead of its time in the area, has just unveiled a completely NEW Wellness. During the Corona Covid-19 tourism & hotels lock-down, our team was busy constructing this all new pampering venue. In addition to the award-winning culinary experiences, comfortable accommodation that follows the principles of digital detox and friendly staff, the hotel now also offers a private wellness: Zlata vila.
The wellness can accommodate up to six guests for maximum privacy and offers the possibility of a private hire. Just like the adults-only Hotel, the wellness too is exclusive to guests over 18 years of age.
The warmth in the details
The meticulously built wellness impresses at first sight with carefully crafted details that come from the hearts of its creators. A special ambience is conjured by a hand-made mosaic of more than 1,400 gold pieces, and walls clad in solid wood, that was given new life by up-cycling. Ancient handmade chairs, tables and other used and abandoned furniture, has been reimagined into wall panels that give the space a special character. A tribute to the Bohinj ironworks heritage should not be overlooked with the thoughtful use of black iron ore patterns on the walls and floor, which is nicely combined with solid Slovenian wood and gold colour in the relaxation area.
Project manager Anže Čokl explains:
»The wellness was designed with the latest travel trends in mind, where experiential boutique accommodation is closely intertwined with the local environment and top-notch cuisine. The main ideas behind the design were sustainability, energy efficiency and a multitude of possibilities to pamper and relax after experiencing the virtually endless natural sights of Bohinj and the Triglav National Park. We are also proud that Sunrose 7 has already received the international Gold Travelife Sustainability Certificate and is a member of the Green Scheme of Slovenia as an environmentally friendly accommodation.«
Seven elements for natural pampering
Wellness Zlata vila pampers guests with seven elements of relaxation, each representing a healing element of the natural wonders of Bohinj:
The luxury of the refreshing Grmečica waterfall for Kneipp therapy,
hot tub made of stainless steel in the shades of Triglav’s seven lakes,
pearl bath therapy with the ionized air of Pokljuka,
unique Finnish sauna with fully carbonated interior and aromatherapy with local herbs,
famous Bohinj rain with hot-cold therapy,
relaxing sound therapy with the sounds of Bohinj forests,
Elements of fire & love in the handmade lanterns.
Where does the name Zlata vila come from?
Zlata vila is a direct translation of Golden Fairy. The concept of the private wellness was inspired by stories about mountain fairies that live in the most beautiful crannies of the mountain slopes. Once upon a time, hikers told stories about fairies from the highlands, which were famous for their exceptional and unspoiled beauty, golden hair and soft glowing skin. Legend has it that the beauty of the fairies was due to the pure water and minerals of the Triglav Seven Lakes and other magical elements of their natural but hidden home.
The inspiration of nature, intertwined with magic, is also reflected in the golden tones of our wellness, which invites guests for a romantic and relaxing experience in the realm of fairies and gold-horns.
