Uroš and the missing person :)

Hi, I'm Uroš, F&B manager. I am joining my colleagues who are under lock down in beautiful Bohinj due to the new corona virus Covid-19. I live in Stara Fužina. This is one of the oldest villages in Bohinj, which is located just a kilometer from the Bohinj Lake.

The name of the village stands for an old tradition of iron industry extracting iron from the ore, that was active here a few centuries ago. In the 18th century Žiga Zois, a culture enthusiast, mineralogist, metallurgist and an economist, bought the ironworks in 1777. He devoted himself eagerly to improve the economic position of the ironworks in Bohinj. He built a villa and a tower clock in Bohinjska Bistrica, which you can still admire today, going for a walk in Bohinjska Bistrica, our neighbourhood.

Meanwhile, many things changed in Stara Fužina. At this very moment the old town center is getting renewed. This is the "most fun" part of the village, where all the best summer "village parties" attract tourists and locals alike.

Stara Fužina is also the starting point of the walk to Mostnica Gorge and the Devil's bridge. Both amongst most popular and most visited natural heritage sights in Bohinj. Since I live very close to these two beauties I visit them often with my dog Eron and my new cat :)

Mostnica Gorge and Voje valley

You can visit Mostnica Gorge for a short walk only or proceed to the Voje valley nearby. Either way, I promise you won't be disapointed. The Mostnica Gorge and the Voje valley offer the best views when walking through the meadows.

The last few days I have been hiking around a bit and I have also attended some of the wine, food and cocktail classes online to see what's new. Sometimes I treat my loved ones with my "alcohol experiments", which are at the moment very Easter - coloured.

What am I missing in Bohinj?

I can't wait to go back to work, actually. I really miss you, our dear guests. I miss the breakfast hype, the laughter in the restaurant and the full bar in the evenings. Thank you for all the joy and inspiration you give us with your kind words of praise ... I hope that we can meet soon and see each other.
