Charming boutique hotel
We decided to visit Slovenia for our mini moon. We envisioned our romantic weekend to be spent in a new boutique hotel in Slovenia and after my wife did a little due diligence on the best boutique hotels in Slovenia, Bohinj Hotel Sunrose 7 came forward as the best choice. We especially preferred this villa in Slovenia for it’s adults-only restriction for the sake of our romantic weekend in Bohinj.
Already from the first phone contact we’ve had with Manca, our anticipation for this trip grew stronger. Lake Bohinj seemed perfect for the numerous activities around Lake Bohinj as well as snow capped mountains. Learning that snow cover is not plentiful this year, we left skis at home, going for a more relaxed romantic getaway.
Stepping inside this splendid villa instantly makes you feel very homely. Chic decor like designer chairs, amazing handmade chandeliers and bespoke carpentry all looked lovely and was a true magnet for our (architects) eyes. And what was mostly interesting is the story! It seems that every item and every piece of furniture has a story of its own. Even the cow bell framed in solid oak wood - it’s a traditional cow bell that owner cow wore over 100 years ago! Just stunning.
We were greeted with smiles upon our arrival and we all kept smiling till our departure. In between delicious breakfasts (it’s absolutely astonishing!), great wine tasting experience we had in the wine cellar, this whole trip was a great treat. Lake Bohinj, Bohinjska Bistrica and other towns are very tiny and lovely, Vogel mountain is a must see for the amazing views of the Triglav mountain as well as the Lake Bohinj down below.
This beautifully charming country hotel is filled with lovely people and very homely feelings, offers truly amazing breakfast that is more of a culinary experience rather than just a delicious breakfast. Manca and Barbara - thank you so much, for everything! We’ll return soon!
PS: We asked Barbara to share some recipes with us and she promised she would and that she would also put them online to the Sunrose 7 blog :)
